Hello! Welcome to KSPortraits.art

Friends, since I'm not active on the common social media sites that many of you are, I've chosen this way to share with you what I have been up to at the drawing board and easel.
I miss teaching kids art lessons yet now, as much as I can, I've been pursuing a happy hobby creating original artwork of beloved people, pets and wildlife. God's tiniest creatures to the most majestic offer endless inspiration. I'm always on alert for great reference photos, but find working from my own photography even more satisfying.
Join me for a quick tour through my mini portfolio below, a small but growing sampling of mostly recent work. You've already met Duke waddling into a stream, inviting us to come along. Scroll down to take a peek at a cute pudgie baby, a beautiful tricolor canine friend named Spike, a sassy llama and more.
I am working on finding my best lighting options for taking photos of finished pieces so they better represent the originals. I haven't mastered that yet. So, not all lighting and colors are true to the originals, but they're close. I'm always learning as I go, adding and updating content accordingly. Generally, my most recent pieces will be first in line.

Current samples are in:
•Pastel
•Colored pencil
•Graphite
I also occasionally work in charcoal and acrylic.
Hope you enjoy taking a look.
(Scroll side to side to see them all. If viewing on a cell phone, try tapping an image to see the whole image at once albeit smaller.)

If you have thoughts to share or questions about what you see here, I welcome them. I will be adding price, size, turn around times to this site soon for commission work. Do you know someone who may be interested in commissioning a pet or people portrait? Find or take a clear, sharp photo and get a head start by contacting me.
Blessings, Karen
